Application review

For a new material or part, provide supplier documentation and photographs or drawings. Unknown composition—and all PVC or chlorine-bearing stock—must not enter a laser test.

Share the largest part, smallest feature, material mix, expected job pattern, software environment, handling constraints, and the result your team will inspect.

Service context

State what changed, when the symptom began, which checks were completed, and whether smoke, flame, odor, interlock, ventilation, or optical damage is involved. Safety concerns require immediate escalation.

Prepare a brief that another engineer can reproduce

For cutting or engraving, identify the supplier material, nominal thickness, masking or coating, largest outline, smallest slot or text, preferred edge or surface appearance, and typical sheet or batch pattern. For marking, include the metal grade or polymer specification, surface treatment, smallest code, required contrast, and any cleaning or permanence check. For an existing process problem, attach the accepted recipe, a labeled failed sample, and a control sample if one is available. State whether the issue follows a material lot, operator, artwork file, lens change, maintenance event, or environmental condition. This evidence does not replace inspection or service procedure, but it prevents the first discussion from collapsing into guesses.

Do not run additional tests when the material composition is unknown, when extraction performance is in doubt, or when smoke, flame, corrosive odor, damaged optics, or an interlock fault is present. Record the stop condition and follow the approved safety and escalation route.
