If you're already running a shop and demand is growing, wholesale enters the picture. The concept is simple: buy more, pay less per unit. The execution isn't that simple.

That's a few salaries. If your expected volume doesn't justify those salaries, selling brand-name equipment and adding your own services on top will probably make you more money.
One team I know launched a private label laser engraving machine with about forty pre-orders. They had a hardware background, so the tech side was manageable. What hurt was the returns. Three customers in the first batch reported misaligned beams — factory setup had been sloppy. The team argued with the factory for two months, shipped units back at their own cost, and the 'successful launch' turned into a support nightmare. The Plasma Cutter Angle: Same Logic, Higher Stakes

Scenario C buyers are almost always dreaming of building a product line — and almost always underestimating support costs.
For most buyers, my team's answer is the same. Get a proven machine from a proven brand — Trotec is the obvious choice for lasers — and pay for the support structure. Wholesale works if you verify calibration and spare parts availability. Private label works only if you've done the staffing math. It rarely works in your favor.
The Checklist I Steal From
